Tori Amos ~ Alanis Morresette ~ Avril Lavigne
Listened to Little Earthquakes and Jagged Little Pill back to back.
Besides having to search to find out where I left my balls at, I was
struck by the similarities. If this was a professional blog, you would
find a signifigant compare and contrast on the subject. Since I am a
hack, I am requesting that you listen to them back to back, compare and
contrast, and then I will compile the results and shamelessly plagiarize
them for this blog.
This one is easy tho: Avril is Alanis as a pocket bitch. Avril wants
to be the next Alanis. Avril wants so desperately bad to be a serious
‘from the heart, I’m living this shitt’ rocker, she failed to realize
that she is compleley ripping off Alanis and there are a few people left
old enough to remember what Alanis sounded like. Of course, Alanis
claimed to be ‘living it’ as well, perhaps she was, I once wondered if
EV was for real…
1) Both were mall-rat Tiffany/Gibsonesque (have to use the esque to be a
real blog, eh) pop princesses before ‘turning’ serious rockers.
2) Both sound remarkably similar (out on a limb here)
…hmm…please submit your essays comparing and contrasting Alanis and
Avril (oh shit, they both start with A!! I get a cookie!) and email them
to me. And then, please don’t visit this blog anymore…

And there you have it, a semiseriously inept attempt to have a blog
which serves a purpose beyond ‘simply to be’.
It didn’t work for Life, the Universe and Everything, and it doesn’t
work here either…

There was a time I was given a cd by “someone” that had pink floyd and hip hop on it. I wonder if that “someone” is paying a visit.
I am old enough to remember Alanis, had crazy long hair now she’s butched. I am old enough to remember Tori, she has or had some REAL issues. I don’t know much about Avril, other than she use to wear a tie. What does all that mean? It means I couldn’t tell you a whole lot about any of their music.
I like milkshakes and fries, but don’t believe I’ve ever had a meat wad.
