My dad sent me this tidbit :

Chief executive officers at 367 top U.S. corporations were paid, on average, $431 last year for every $1 paid to their companies’ average production worker, according to publicly available information jointly compiled in September by Institute for Policy Studies and United for a Fair Economy. In 1990, the ratio was about $100-to-$1. (If the federal minimum wage had increased since 1990 by the same rate as the multiple for CEOs’ pay, it would have risen from $5.15 an hour to $23.03, but, of course, it’s still $5.15.)

Yesterday I wrote a very long article concerning an online news story I read regarding an individual trying to remove the church from our state (one nation under god, in god we trust, etc). Basically, I was very very strongly agreeing, comparing, contrasting, kicking ass.

Flock ate my post. I was very sad.

Just reading this gets my ire flaring higher…

Atheist challenges ‘In God We Trust’ - U.S. Life - MSNBC.com

I started seriously thinking about it.? Why DOES our money say ‘In God We Trust’?? Why do kids recite ‘Under God’ in the Pledge of Allegiance?

When people scoff and say ‘oh they don’t have to say it if they don’t want to’ and ‘it’s just printed on the money, it doesn’t make any difference’, IT DOES make a difference.? If it REALLY doesn’t make a difference :

Lets change it to ‘In Allah We Trust’.? How the fuck would that fly?? Oh, yea, that’s right…IT WOULDN’T.? So obviously there IS a problem here.? If ‘God’ is proper on the OFFICIAL money, but Allah or any other god isn’t proper, that proves that there is an ‘unholy’ alliance between that church and the state.

Same for the Pledge : lets change it to ‘Under Allah’.? If the kids don’t like it, they don’t have to say that part.? There is no problem with this change, right?? Hardy-har-har…There would be so many rednecks, conservatives, liberals, concerned parents…everyone would be up in arms.?

The hypocrisy is KILLING me.?

Congress first authorized a reference to God on a two-cent piece in 1864. The action followed a request by the director of the U.S. Mint, who wrote there should be a “distinct and unequivocal national recognition of the divine sovereignty” on the nation’s coins.

That was back in 1864.? So, some religious nut over a hundred years ago (who was OBVIOUSLY a christian) decided that HIS god was the RIGHT god and slapped its name on the money.? And, all the other christians who followed were like ‘well, even though there is supposed to be seperation, it is the one true god after all hrum hrum hrum’.

Perfect.

In 1955, the year after Congress inserted the words “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, Congress required all currency to carry the motto “In God We Trust.”

More self-righteous bullshit.

Newdow’s latest lawsuit came five days after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected, without comment, a challenge to an inscription of “In God We Trust” on a North Carolina county government building.

In doing so, the justices upheld the Richmond, Va.-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that “In God We Trust” appears on the nation’s coins and is a national motto.

“In this situation, the reasonable observer must be deemed aware of the patriotic uses, both historical and present, of the phrase ‘In God We Trust,”’ the appeals panel ruled in upholding the inscription’s display.

So.? Its a patriotic national motto.? Of course.? That is how everything is justified these days.? So much for freedom of religion.? Your ‘wrong’ god makes you a second class citizen who is obviously not patriotic.? If you were a real american you’d believe in the right God.? This ex-cult has gone professional, baby.

If it is contrary to the American Dream, the Constitiution, or the ideals of the founding fathers, it is Patriotic.?

  • The Patriot Act (strips our freedom).
  • The Iraq War (based on lies)
  • The Cheney Torture Proposal (the Spanish Inquisition, redux)
  • And a state sanctioned God (anyone up for some pogroms? (see above point))

Boy, Bush is going to get his buddies at al Qa’ida to…

November 16th, 2005

…bring about another terrorist attack. The People of the US are getting uppity, they are forgetting to obey and respect the Fuhrer, I mean the Father, our Government.

Why do we even need this large, expensive, corrupt, and irresponsible Government?

(protection)

Justification? They were running out of it in 2000 and 2001. I wrote a little letter to Bush in the spring of 2001 asking him to downsize our militiary to make it smaller, leaner and faster responding to handle the new future : radical states and terrorism.

Bush, Inc. (aka Cheney, Rove, Libby and Asso.) had other ideas : lets keep our gigantic pork-barrel spending (oh excuse me, Defense Spending) AND eat our cake too. Al Qa’ida wants to attack? Perfect, we wanted to invade Iraq anyway…we can fabricate now and explain it away later.

Pennsylvania forced their state government to repeal bullshit raises enacted in the dark. They realized that, hey, we DO have to listen to these bitches. Man, constituants suck eh?

Is the federal government far behind? Can’t you feel it? We want Libby convicted. We want Cheney arrested. We WANT Bush impeached.

Can you feel it? It’s coming…

The only thing that will save Bush is al Qa’ida, our (his) modern day USSR.

They need to divert and distract. They can’t fabricate justification in the current environment (we are actually watching, we actually care).

Only one thing…

Oh, there is that other thing I forgot to mention, that I told Bush in 2001.

The other reason they are consolidating power and maintaining the military (oh how little I realized about their plans to consolidation of power) is if you were planning on a military coup.

Looking back, that is exactly what they pulled off. Thankfully it wasn’t entirely without repercussions (even if it took four years to set in).

Good night, and good luck…
