I’m busy…
June 19th, 2006Hello.
Its nice that the stock market seems to be coming around slightly. If you are in the short term looking for mutual funds, perhaps now is the time to buy to extend your purchasing power?
I feel like life won't slow down. The older I get, the faster it moves. The end of this week I'll be in Canada, and then next week I'll be in Hawaii from Monday to Friday. I guess it is better to have too much work, rather than not enough. I've had enough of not knowing if and when the next paycheck will come in…so, beggars can't be choosers, eh?
Tonight is the night I either get my modded XBOX running or I heave it through a window. DVD problems have stymied me each and every step of the way!
You know I love my car, right? I'm in it for the long haul…and, if there has been one thing lacking, its a little excitement in the…drivers seat. A cam controller and a few minor performance mods helped slightly, but there is another realm of performance which has been singing its siren call since I've become a new car owner…super and turbocharging.
I decided on turbocharging my car. I found a guy pretty knowledgable (one of the most respected in his circle) in the mysteries of the 1ZZ engine who was selling his system as a kit, upgrading to bigger and better things. So…after seeing it for sale for a while, I decided that I'd take the plunge. Turbocharging can kill an engine as fast as you can say 'too much boost', but Nick has been running his system for about 30,000 miles without problem…which is saying he is doing it right. Basically, when you boost, increasing power is as easy as increasing boost…but if you don't account for all of the other things that come along with the increase in power, you can fuck your engine faster than you can say, yes, you guessed it, 'too much boost'. So, this kit ought to provide around 175HP as it is, with a fair bit of room for growth assuming I want to sink another $1000 into it…up to 200-225HP. 175HP sounds wonderful (Kelleys Stratus had about 174HP or so when it was fresh and young, and thats a fairly heavy car). 200-225HP sounds like insanity, so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I'll be installing it myself, so that wildly entertaining post will be rolling around in a month or so.
What else, what else. I guess its time for Frank & Beans, so I'm out!
