Pollywog.com, pollywog.org, pollywogs.org, pollywogblog.com…any variation I can think of, taken.
99% are junk. Only pollywog.com has a real website set up, just some guy's personal page.
So, it looks like I'll be moving this to pollywogsblog.com…thoughts? Try it out, maybe it's working by now :)
I was thinking of making this more of an 'about me' page, with links to all of my various incarnations on the internet, including my personal blog…thoughts?
If I do do something like this, I'll have to find some way to allow the blog to exist in this place so as to not break links and whatnot, while moving the existing and new posts to a new directory or server. I might ask visitors to visit and try out new things from time to time as this project progresses, I'll probably start by installing various items temporarily on our local Ubuntu server, getting feedback, etc etc. ETA? None. Seriously, fuck it, ETA's are bullshit. A month, a year…it will be done when it is done.
Did I mention I put a new hard drive in my computer yesterday? I moved my torrents downloads, mp3s music and pr0n personal pictures onto it, and then set a one-off defragment on all of my drives. Did my old drives, started into my new drive when my computer hung…huh, I thought, rebooted, MFT errors, CRC read errors, tons of bad sectors…thank you, thank you…so, I copied my data off, then defragmented my drives, effectively scrambling and probably removing any hope of recovering the deleted data from my old hard drives…we'll see how it goes. I'm fairly numb to it by now, what is losing 5GB of personal pictures, or 30GB of music…sigh…fuck it…
I like the idea of a “more about me” blog. Maybe because that’s what my blog mostly is. I find that I like your personal entries more than say your opinionated ones (even though, I do enjoy those as well).
Lost…pics…music…again…
I think what you’ve got going on right now is fine. I don’t see why you can’t just incorporate personal entries into this blog.
either way…if you want us to read 2 blogs, we’ll read 2 blogs. I fyou want us to read 1 blog, we’ll read 1 blog. Maybe the wine is making me so agreeable.
I wasn’t thinking of starting a new blog, I was thinking of making garrettsocling.com more of a professional ‘about me’ page, more like a train depot, with rails heading out in all directions (to my personal blog, to where I work, to my facebook page, to my del.icio.us page, etc etc etc). It would be a very slow moving site, with practically no updates, just changing as I change.
pollywogsblog.com would then be this blog, my rantings, ravings and postings of interesting bits. personal entries would still get interspersed between the foaming at the mouth ranting.
