A Letter to the Editor
December 1st, 2006If you take the ex-CEO of a substantial portion of the military-industrial complex and put him in a position of high power in the executive branch, it is little wonder that utilizing the MIC is the preferred method of operation for said executive branch.
If said executive branch successfully appoints the ex-CEO of a substantial portion of the petroleum industry to lead a 'study' on the future of the United States energy policy, I wonder what the result would be? Seeing how ExxonMobil "doesn't believe in" global warming, it is very obvious that Lee Raymond's recommendation will be to "stay the course".
Is that really the best thing for the future, for our children, our neighbors, our descendants? To hold our eyes wide shut, against an 'inconvenient truth', when to do so may cause incomprehensible damage, loss and change? Wouldn't you want to instead examine exhaustively each and every avenue, every possibility to its fullest extent and conclusion, to do the absolute best job possible, not only for your own sake but for the sake of everyone else you share the earth with, now and forever?
We owe it to ourselves and to everyone around us to be open minded and forward thinking. Make sure you let President Bush know that there are people out there who ARE interested and DO care about the future. The simplest way is to call 202-456-1111 or email comments@whitehouse.gov. Quick, easy, effortless…and together people DO make a difference.

Every little bit helps…all those little bits eventually make a huge difference.
Why not do what you can? Why not try to make this a better world for the children, your own children?
I think people need to actually start thinking about the fact that the world does not revolve abound them….it revolves around billions of people. We need to start acknowledging the fact that our behaviors, our actions do effect this world, they do effect the future of this world, our action will effect the air, the water, the whole environment of future generations.
We all just need to be more responsible, think about our actions & try our best to make good decisions. Every little bit does help. If everyone used the excuse that “I’m just one person, how can I possibly make a difference?”…if everyone used that excuse, can you imagine what the world would be like today?
C’mon people! Take the blinders off and do what you can to help out!
