Obama to Fox News: Shut the fuck up, you retarded twits.

January 24th, 2007

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/horsesmouth/2007/01/post_15.php

…All of the claims about Senator Obama raised in the Insight Magazine piece were thoroughly debunked by CNN, which, instead of relying on unnamed sources, sent a reporter to Obama’s former school in Jakarta to check the facts.

If Doocy or the staff at Fox and Friends had taken [time] to check their facts, or simply made a call to his office, they would have learned that Senator Obama was not educated in a Madrassa, was not raised as a Muslim, and was not raised by his father – an atheist Obama met once in his life before he died….

…These malicious, irresponsible charges are precisely the kind of politics the American people have grown tired of, and that Senator Obama is trying to change by focusing on bringing people together to solve our common problems.

Why are these malicius, irresponsible charges?  Fox is trying to paint Obama as either a potential Muslim extremist or even latent terrorists (Madrassas: think of a republiklan grooming school) or at least as an atheist, which is worse than a Muslim to most Americans.

What, expecting people to do a little actual work (you know, ‘reporting’) before they start parroting bullshit they read from some unverified source? What, Fox New and Pollywogs share the same reporting savvy? Amazing! Where do I sign up? I never knew I was such a high caliber source of news and information…I report…you decide if it is bullshit or not…hey, I think that sounds like a good new slogan for the site for a few days…

Bush, spewing bullshit like a mechanized anus…

January 24th, 2007

Ahh, did you see the Dirty Jobs with the mechanical anus? Classic television there…

A claim made by President Bush in his State of the Union speech last night, that an attack on an L.A. skyscraper had been averted, was universally debunked as a hoax by Mayors, CIA, FBI and NSA personnel and counter-terror experts nearly a year ago when it first surfaced. By regurgitating this fraud, Bush has committed an impeachable offense by knowingly lying to the American people.

Maybe you didn’t catch that:

By regurgitating this fraud, Bush has committed an impeachable offense by knowingly lying to the American people.

Here, I’ll hit you one more time:

Bush has committed an impeachable offense.

Yep, over and over and over, Bush is flaunting his disregard for just about everything. He is grabbing his nuts and shaking them at everyone, hollering “Whatchya going to do about it, bitches?”…”I’m rich, bitch”, and “I’m the President, look at me, a talking chimpanzee“…keep in mind, this is while grabbing his nuts and hollering

UPDATE: I’ve been slowly reading a very light book by Kurt Vonnegut, “A Man Without a Country”. May I quote a passage without violating the DMCA?

Many years ago, I was so innocent I still considered it possible that we could become the humane and reasonable America so many members of my generation used to dream of. We dreamed of such an America during the Great Depression, when there were no jobs. And then we fought and often died for that dream during the Second World War, when there was no peace.

But I know now that there is not a chance in hell of America’s becoming humane and reasonable. Because power corrupts us, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Human beings are chimpanzees who get crazy drunk on power. By saying that our leaders are power-drunk chimpanzees, am I in danger of wrecking the morale of our soldiers fighting and dying in the Middle East? Their morale, like so many bodies, is already shot to pieces. They are being treated, as I never was, like toys a rich kid got for Christmas.

My Daddy the Dancer

January 24th, 2007

One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did
for a living.

All the typical answers came up — fireman, mechanic, businessman,
salesman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth.

However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the
teacher prodded him about his father, he replied, “My father’s an exotic
dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other
men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is
really good he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for
money.”

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other
children to work on some exercises and then took little Justin aside to
ask him, “Is that really true about your father?”
“No,” the boy said, “He’s Tony Snow, the president’s press agent, but I was
too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids.”

So, you want to oppose the war in Iraq, but you don’t want to march on Washington?

January 23rd, 2007

Click Here to support the following:

1. No More Funding for This War
We urge you to use the power given to Congress by the Constitution.
A. Vote no on the upcoming “supplemental” spending bill and any other bills that include funds to extend the occupation of Iraq.
B. Cosponsor and vote yes on Congressman Jim McGovern’s “Safe and Orderly Withdrawal Act of 2007″ and any other bill that cuts off future funding of the war.
C. Pass legislation to shift some of the spending of the $70 billion already set aside for the war this year to safely bringing our troops home in an orderly fashion; bringing in a temporary Muslim force; training an Iraqi police force; funding the reconstruction of Iraq by Iraqis; removing landmines and depleted uranium; dismantling blast walls and wire barriers; restoring archaeological sites; training lawyers, judges, journalists, and social workers in Iraq; bringing back professional Iraqis who emigrated; rebuilding Iraq’s public health system; compensating the families of civilians killed and tortured; and providing health care and education for our veterans when they return home.

2. Investigate the Case Made for This War and the Way it Has Been Conducted
We urge you to listen to the majority of Americans (ABC/Washington Post) and investigate the following areas:
A. Misuse of intelligence and fraud by the White House in making the case for this war.
B. Waste, fraud, and misuse of funds, including in launching the war in secret, and in construction of permanent bases.
C. War crimes, extraordinary rendition, and torture.

Unlike our glorious Leader and his puppet master, Congress actually is influenced by the opinion of the people they are elected to represent. Not as much with the Do Nothing Congress, but now more than ever with a fresh boatload of Democrats who are still riding the wave of popular opinion. They actually need your help to stiffen their resolve.

Why do I hate America?

January 22nd, 2007

That is a no so subtle question I often see Colbert ask a liberal or progressive guest. Reading an response to the question by Noam Chomsky made me appreciate the sad reality of the question and those who take it seriously:

A crucial totalitarian principle is that the state is identified with the people, the culture, the society. For those who adopt that principle, criticism of the state is hatred of the country. In the old Soviet Union, for example, dissidents were condemned as “anti-Soviet” or “haters of Russia,” because they condemned policies of the Holy State. We, however, rightly regarded them as the people most dedicated to the welfare of the Russian people…Where there is a democratic culture, such a notion would be ridiculed. In Italy, for example, if someone were to publish a book called “the Anti-Italians,” denouncing people who dare to criticize government policy, people would collapse with ridicule. It is rather striking that in the US, such a book (of course full of outlandish lies) is reviewed seriously and treated with respect. The US is alone, to my knowledge, outside of totalitarian states, in that concepts like “hate America” or “anti-American” are adopted in the style of King Ahab and his totalitarian successors. That should trouble us.

I added a little emphasis here and there. Interesting that the government and media, the big business of the United States, conjoined at the dollar bill, are so adamant in enforcing and repeating this nationalistic message. I guess if I was trying to maintain power of a corrupt government for as long as possible, I’d start pulling out the stops too.

“Why do you hate America, Garrett?”, will be the first question out of the mouth of the FBI or Secret Service agent

DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC.

Question Authority…those who covet power are those to be least trusted with it…and those who must be kept under the greatest scrutiny at all times…

Here is a good quote from a fellow ‘reality-based’ human, living in the great survelliance nation-state of the U.K.:

“It is critical that we understand that this new form of terrorism carries another more subtle, perhaps equally pernicious, risk. Because it might encourage a fear-driven and inappropriate response. By that I mean it can tempt us to abandon our values. I think it important to understand that this is one of its primary purposes.”

His point is that, from a societal standpoint, terrorism is actually a simple crime.  In those conjoined twins of fear and nationalism, rational thought is constantly under assault…
