The way of things to come?
February 28th, 2007“The Military Commissions Act, The John Warner Defense Authorization Act, the Homeland Security Act, the Patriot Act, and the myriad presidential signing statements have conferred absolute power on George Bush. The question is whether or not some incident will arise that will persuade Bush to use his extraordinary new powers.General Tommy Franks predicted that a “massive, casualty producing event” might cause “our population to question our own Constitution and begin to militarize our country;” a scenario that many see as likely now.Is that it? Will another terrorist attack provide the rationale for overturning republican government and declaring martial law?If so, then we should know what to expect.
According to FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) it would mean “the suspension of the normal functions of civilian government, implying the cancellation or postponement of state and federal elections.” (Global Research) It would also “close public and government facilities not critical for continuity of essential operations.” (FEMA)”

Hmm…if you are trying to control the people, you need to control the media…well, they already have the big business mass media in their pocket, no major problem to knock Olbermann, Stewart and Colbert off the air. The real problem lies with people getting unauthorized information contrary to the goals of the administration, outside of the easily controlled channels…you know, blogs and whatnot. Luckily, these are usually very easy to target. Within a week, you could probably safely whisk away a couple thousand of the most dangerous sources of information without much of a whimper…suddenly, blogs wouldn’t get updated, new news wouldn’t be distributed, CNN and Fox News would say everything is OK and no one would be the wiser. There would be rumors of course, have you seen Garrett lately, things like that…but nothing major, nothing you’d read in the paper or see on a national level.

…the Bush adminisration is funneling money to al Qaeda, they will look the other way until al Qaeda sets off a nuclear device in the United States, they will launch a nuclear attack against Iran outraging nearly everyone and they are firing prosecutors who were capable of stopping them.
And I’ve been saying this for a while…
Only a couple more years until nineteen eighty-four. All the pieces are in place. Everything is poised and ready to tumble…maybe we’ll meet on the other side…maybe not…
