Alright, my del.icio.us list is getting out of hand…
May 14th, 2007I’ve always thought RoundUp was harmless…turns out that’s exactly what Monsanto wants us to believe…thought provoking, at least…

I liked the title, Chicken McShitlets…then I hit this part:
“Did she say “die”? Yessiree! The Centers for Disease Control estimates that each year there are at least 76 million illnesses, 325,000 hospitalizations, and 5,000 deaths caused by foodborne pathogens in the US. Eating chicken and meat contaminated with feces is the primary means for transmitting foodborne diseases to humans.
That’s shit in plain-folks talk. Lots and lots of shit that we eat.
Part of the problem is the hellish overcrowded conditions that the birds live in, where they wade in each other’s feces and vomit.
Then there’s mechanization. Machines, which can kill 70 birds per minute (three times more than just 10 years ago), are supposed to remove the intestines but more often than not wind up ripping the birds insides, spilling shit on the body cavity and equipment. “Fingers” on the machines which are designed to rip off the feathers, also pass feces, vomit and blood from chicken to chicken.
Then there is “fecal soup.” Thousands of dirty chickens are bathed together in a chill tank, creating a mixture known as fecal soup that spreads contamination from bird to bird. Consumers pay for this fecal soup when they buy chicken, since up to 15% of US poultry weight consists of fecal soup.”

I never knew that microwave popcorn could kill…it is amazing how little we know about the chemicals we regularly produce, spray and digest…oh, and of course you can’t tell what is in shit: “artificial flavorings”…hah…

I liked this, and hadn’t realized it was part of the Obama / Clinton planns: even ‘pulling out’ of Iraq could leave up to 75,000 troops there indefinitely.

Our gas prices are currently among the lowest in the nation (cool interactive map!)…

Looks like Agent Orange is a gift that keeps on giving (I found this image paticularly disturbing)…

Taxes, war and the Bush Administration: put it on the charge card, the next President will have to pay the piper (speaking of taxes, why don’t wages over $90,000 get taxed towards Social Security???)

Mmm…my unseen masters drop choice bits for my barren plate. Yes, master, I believe the morsel that is fed to me…yes, master. I can’t be bothered to go and look for food myself, so my unseen masters make sure that I never go hungry…
Actually, in the McCain case, I’m glad the asshole got raped. Lets hope that some unseen string puller manages to bust out Bush and Cheney to the point they are left standing naked and alone under the intense spotlight of the truth, with no rathole to run to and no crony to throw shit over the cameras…
The real problem is how shitty the typical reporter is these days. So someone else is doing research, and foisting the results into the American public as ‘news reporting’. News ’stories’ would be a more accurate representation. This isn’t new, it is just that typically it is the White House issuing the news, and the ‘reporters’ regurgitating it verbatim.
Not to derail your train of thought, but remember when Dan Rather stepped down? Imagine if Bush or Cheney was held to the same level of responsibility? They would have resigned in the hours after 9/11!!! Tenet came out and told us that Bush Co, Inc. knew about the hijackers plan…oh, what was that Condi? Could you repeat that Bush? Please, come out and say again “no one could have predicted”…no one except for the head of the FUCKING CIA WHO CAME BY AND WARNED YOU A COUPLE WEEKS AHEAD OF THE DISASTER!!!
That is the fucking story I want to see. How the Bush Administration (the PNAC by any other name is still the PNAC) deliberatly looked the other way while Al Qaeda killed thousands of Americans so that Bush Co, Inc. would be able to ‘justify’ (ha ha) invading Iraq. THAT is the big fucking picture…Nixon doesn’t have shit on Bush Co, Inc when it comes to being evil fucking criminals.

Ok, my list is back down to about 40 items. Sigh…the interwebs are too interesting…

I’m not very good at boycotting things, as I do9n’t usually do well with delaying gratification, but I have successfully avoided KFC for several years because of they way they treat the chickens. Recently, I quit buying chicken from the other fast food joints as well (man that Wendy’s spicy chicken rocks though). I know I need to go the next step and quit buying fast food altogether. I have little to no willpower but mistreatment of animals is the one thing that can get me to abstain.
So now popcorn is dangerous?! Jesus. And you people wonder why I keep smoking. Cigarettes are soooo much more satisfying than popcorn.
Fuck Condi. Fuck Bush. Fuck McCain. How many days until this bullshit ends?
That intuition article was interesting. I tend to go with my gut in most cases. Not sure it’s working so well so far. :)
Here’s an intuition quiz:
http://www.psychicvista.com/articles/IntuitQuiz.htm
My score was 28.
I think I am on the verge of becoming a vegetarian again, or rather a “Lacto-ovo-vegetarian”. I don’t think I could survive life without cheese, especially cream cheese…as in the cream cheese icing on a Mr. Stickey bun. LOL!!!!! (I would have a really hard time giving up bacon though….poor wittle piggies……..)
Any little thing could push me over the edge….I can feel it coming on…
What the hell doesn’t give you cancer????? Geez…..
Let’s march on Washington!
I took the quiz and scored an 11 (”If your total is between 8 and 15, you tend to mix styles but lean more toward the analytic and rational than the intuitive. Your intuition might be erratic.”)
I don’t think I believe in “gut feelings”.
