Thinning the herd…

June 12th, 2007

Wouldn’t you know it. Haven’t had an accident in over a decade. Brand new fucking car. Jesus H Fucking Christ. About two hours ago, I murdered a deer on Route 120 ten miles west of Lock Haven.

I hadn’t gotten around to posting about my car yet, but I love it. It is a 2007 Toyota Prius Package #2, dark grey…wonderful wonderful car. I was driving along, singing along to the Arctic Monkeys, thinking about looking forward to filling up the tank when I got back to town (I spent the whole trip maximizing my milage, doing whatever I could to go farther on a drop of gas).

I can’t tell anymore. I just don’t know.

I remember seeing the deer at eye level about four feet off the right hand side of my car, the next time slice was the bang and it landing square in front of me at bumper height, I look to the left and it is spinning off through the weeds along the road, going 50 some miles per hour along side my car, spinning…it was like a fucking movie, surreal…

Anyway, all I can hope is that fucking deer didn’t have a chance to reproduce before evolution stepped in…

Car brand new, day I brought it home:

Car two weeks later, 1100 miles, 6:45PM:

Hats off to the state police. The trooper handling the issue has been one of the nicest, most friendly ‘customer service reps’ I’ve dealt with in a long time. The fucking tard who took my call at the State Farm service center, however, didn’t know their head from their ass and was just about the saddest excuse for a service rep this side of Comcast…

    That fucking sucks.

Seeing how it is brand new I guess you have me beat.

I had a car painted, then 4 hours later I was sitting in the mall parking lot wanting to cause bodly harm to an elderly man driving a mini van… That is a tale for my own blog I suppose.

They’ll patch it up dude, either that or you’ll get a new, new car…

Glad that you weren’t hurt. That’s the important thing. Cars schmars. You can get a new one of those.

Pretty sad when the cops are the friendliest customer service reps around.

Thx for caring for my kitties btw. They seem happy and healthy (or as healthy as they were when I left anyhow). U and K wanna come over for some wine this week?

That’s what I say…In fact I felt worse for the poor deer than the car!

    Wine sounds good to me!

Called Fairfield, got the estimate: $5545 in repairs…

    Holy fuck…

    Thank god for insurance…

Oh, and apparently ’something’ happened to my rear bumper along the way. Which they are including in the repair estimate without any hassle, praise baby jesus. Or is it adult jesus? I can’t tell which to pray to anymore…

you get the same results regardless of which one you pray to
