Naps…and a movie…

August 2nd, 2007

Never been a big fan of them…past two nights, however, I’ve gone very short on sleep. Looks like tonight again maybe. I can go one night on five or six hours, but I am a sleep whore and I need a lot of it on a regular basis…second night of 5 or 6 hours of sleep, come 4 or 5PM I am DYING…I was actually nodding off for like five seconds at a time in a chair…so I came home, ate some ancient frostbitten hash-browns I couldn’t stand to seen thrown away, and settled in for a nice 40 minute nap. And MAN did I feel better afterwards! It was (almost) like I had gotten a normal nights sleep the night before…fuck, here I am at 1:40AM and I’m beginning to actually feel tired again…gotta get a cot installed at the shop…

Oh, I watched A Scanner Darkly tonight and LOVED IT. Fucking amazing piece of art, a wonderful creation. The acting was wonderful, the story deftly written and engaging, and the execution with the painting of the final movie just really put the icing on the cake. It really reminded me amazingly well of being bombed out of your mind…a really scary movie which I’d highly recommend to ANYONE!  You can watch the theatrical trailer here…Robert Downey Jr. was phenomenal, the entire movie was just nailed…go see it already!!!

Maybe you should experiment with polyphasic sleep. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyphasic_sleep

THAT IS WHAT IT’S CALLED! I read that before, remembered the general idea but the lack of sleep kept me from successfully finding it via google…and I can’t just blather about something I half remember and pretend I’m any kind of authority…(sarcasm doesn’t translate well with this series of tubes I’m pushing my word into)…

This evening I’ve felt very scatterbrained, even with a decent amount of sleep. I think I must need more naps throughout the day, one 40 minute doesn’t cut it…

I think polyphasic sleep sounds awesome. I wish I could just say fuck it and actually just do it…

I wish you would just try it too. I’d like someone else to do it before I do.

So when they suffer a complete psychotic breakdown and permanent brain damage you can say “Boy, I’m glad I didn’t try that wacky shit!”…well, that is my vague and probably unfounded fear, at least…

Exactly. That is my fear as well.
