‘A year ago, Homeland Security gave security clearances to nine New York City fire chiefs and began sharing intelligence with them. Even before that, fire department personnel were being taught “to identify material or behavior that may indicate terrorist activities” and were also “told to be alert for a person who is hostile, uncooperative or expressing hate or discontent with the United States.”‘

I just read Fahrenheit 451 a few months ago, and while the author didn’t elaborate on the long slow process between firemen who put out fires and firemen who were thought police, I imagine in his head the first baby step was exactly like this…

Let me see your ‘oh’ face. Or not, because I’ve only got three minutes before the next round of keg stands start:

“Sociology professor Paula England’s survey questioned students about their most recent hook-ups, which ranged from kissing to manual sex to oral sex to intercourse. The results showed that 44 percent of men had reached orgasm compared to 19 percent of women.

More specifically, 70 percent of men climaxed during intercourse without oral sex beforehand, but only half the amount of females could do the same.”

Wouldn’t this be an awesome picture to see in a newspaper?

“A Republican communications director expressed outrage at the photos, telling the Daily News, “It is simply inappropriate to have political attack art, in the form of egregious doctored photographs of the President and other high-ranking officials who have dedicated their lives to public service, in a taxpayer-funded building frequented by schoolchildren and the general public.”"

Inappropriate like the 10 commandments hanging in courthouses, or taxpayer funds going to quasi-religious organizations, or like governmental organizations releasing propaganda to the public (hello FEMA staged press conference), or like the president lying his ass off over and over and over, leading our nation into a war in Iraq which has cost over a million lives so far?

Inappropriate like that?

Mastering the Republican art of damage control, by spinning the facts of your own egregious behaviour and applying it to your opponents:

“Pope Benedict, in a new encyclical released on Friday, said atheism was responsible for some of the “greatest forms of cruelty and violations of justice” in history.”

Excuse me for a second, I snorted chocolate milk out my nose. After I cleaned up the mess, I started crying for the people slowly and agonizingly tortured to death over the years by Christians in the name of god. I believe I have myself back together, finally…

Abusing Giuliani…

Cnn.com’s front page, nothing…
And a quote from http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/11/29/104316/96:

“The Rudy Giuliani taxpayer-funded adultery story is not yet 24 hours old, so it’s too soon to tell if the traditional media will let this story die the way they’ve largely ignored plenty of other Giuliani stories. They often ignore or gloss over stories that show Giuliani’s selfishness, vanity and megalomania. They often ignore or gloss over stories that reveal huge blunders he made before, during and after 9-11 that hampered the city’s response to the attack, and probably cost lives. And they ignore or gloss over stories that show how his gigantic ego and sense of entitlement directly effected NYC’s preparedness and response to 9-11.”

Sounds like an excellent replacement to George Bush, if you ask me. More Iraq and Katrina, bring it on, mission accomplished, 9/11, terrorism, terrorist, bugaboo, don’t look at the man behind the curtain raping your ass, terrorism, terrorist, bugaboo, 9/11!

I read in the FFRF newsletter that the federal government gives religious institutions grants! Well, it has since Cunthead Bush and Dickhead Cheney have declared themselves dictators. Since 2002, they’ve given away over $600 MILLION of your tax money to god knows what loonies for god knows what purposes. $600 million to people expanding their God-given vision. To people combating homosexuality through Jesus. To strengthening marriage. To counseling against abortion. Because you know all of those religious types need huge piles of cash to continue the work Jesus started. So what if Jesus was so against this kind of shit he went around fucking shit up, what matters now is a steady stream of cash into the pockets of people who find the idea of god and jesus laugable, so laughable that they’d be glad to accept your donation to continue the good work from their good book…

Also found within the pages of the FFRF newsletter:

“I would probably have to say yes, that the Constition established the United States of America as a Christian nation. But I say that in the broadest sense. The lady that holds her lamp beside the golden door doesn’t say, “I only welcome Christians.” We welcome the poor, the tired, the huddled masses. But when they come here they know that they are in a nation founded on Christian priciples.” - John McCain

Uuum, I don’t know how to break this to you gently, Mr. McCain, but you don’t know what the fuck you are talking about. As usual. Allow me to insert this baseball bat into your rectum until it protrudes from your mouth. Like waterboarding, this is simply an enhanced technique (a learning technique in this case)…it certainly is not torture.

Since you obviously don’t know, let me ask you how many times God is mentioned in the Constitution? If you were establishing a new nation and wanted to found it as a Christian nation, it would be exceedingly easy to do so unequivocally. But those who founded our nation did the EXACT OPPOSITE. They clearly stated that the government should have nothing to do with religion, should pay no respect to any religion, should not enthrone a religion: that there should be a clear and distinct separation between church and state.

I know this is hard for cocksuckers and shitheads to wrap their head around, but it is the simple truth. Like evolution and the world being more than 10,000 years old, I know it ’sounds scary’, but the truth is the truth, and being an ignorant dumb ass isn’t going to change it. There is a time and a place for religion, and it had nothing to do with and is far far away from secular government.

Take these ignorant cunts for example: since there isn’t a shred of evidence supporting the idea that the USA was founded a Christian nation, they create evidence and take it on faith, just like they pretend to do every Sunday when they pass the collection plate around and expect you to do something with it. Since none of the paperwork support their case, they cherry pick the evidence and supply a quote from a speech as proof of their entire house of cards (oh, and Deists are Christian in only the loosest sense, if we’d like to get technical). Let me provide a slightly more insightful George Washington quote:

“I am persuaded, you will permit me to observe that the path of true piety is so plain as to require but little political direction. To this consideration we ought to ascribe the absence of any regulation, respecting religion, from the Magna-Charta of our country.
George Washington, responding to a group of clergymen who complained that the Constitution lacked mention of Jesus Christ, in 1789, Papers, Presidential Series, 4:274, the “Magna-Charta” here refers to the proposed United States Constitution”

Don’t worry, there are lots of Presidential candidates that don’t have a clue about this kind of thing. Mike “dumb shit” Huckabee thinks that ‘most’ of those who signed the Declaration of Independance were clergy. Must be like an ‘Al Qaeda in Iraq’ thing, as ‘most’ actually turns out to be ‘one’. Get off their backs, people, they are just proposing to lead the free world, look at what a good job George “born and raised in New England, but please don’t tell anyone” Bush has done at running things.

I feel safer already, knowing that the NSA has gone over this blog post with a fine toothed comb!

Hell, if it were up to me I’d say tax the bastards to high heaven and take the money out of the situation. It is obvious that money and power corrupts religious types more than most, let us ‘help them stay honest’ by making it absurdly expensive to collect money and even more difficult to spend that money.

Why can’t people believe in people? Why can’t people look for strength and growth and decency within themselves? Why do they need an old white haired father figure hold a rod in one hand and a carrot in the other? I guess I wouldn’t be so down on religion if it weren’t for the massive amounts of bloodshed, war and murder, torture, corruption, rape and sexual abuse, and terrible, terrible hypocrisy over the past TWO THOUSAND YEARS it is directly responsible for…

A flock, a tattoo and a title…

November 23rd, 2007

“Akismet has caught 5,669 spam for you since you first installed it.” Akismet is a little plugin I…plugged in? to my WordPress and boy is it nice for it to do the heavy lifting…

So a while back (May of earlier this year? Seems like years ago) this guy emailed me asking about this little drawing I did and had on the PCS website under my contact info:

Contact

I got instructions on how to draw it step by step from a Ten Club newsletter. Eddie uses it on his guitar picks apparently (this article is interesting, but I am a PJ dork):

So, this guy asks about it, apparently he wants to get it as a tattoo but can’t find a decent resolution image anywhere. It just so happens that I drew mine huge and scaled it way down, so I gave him a copy of the original. You can see mine went a bit different from teh original (even with step by step instruction from the newsletter…) , you’ll have to excuse my complete lack of artistic ability. I drew it using SmartDraw, the only platform I can use with even the slight modicum of skill.

A couple days ago, the guy gets back to me:

How cool is that?

Oh yea, the ‘flock’ from the title. I’m trying out Flock again, and I like it a bit more this time around. This is not a review, but if you already have a Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and Blogger account, it could CHANGE YOUR FUCKING WORLD. Or at least be mildly interesting.

Wake up…

November 23rd, 2007

This will likely be a bit boring, nothing really interesting or funny here…

So I woke up from a dream this morning. The dream itself was fairly unremarkable (other than seeming upon remembering to be a large movie-style story arc with someone besides me writing and directing). What was interesting was something I pieced together while remembering. I started thinking back from the last thing that happened right before I woke up, back further and further. I remembered that things seemed much different at the end of the dream (right before I woke up) than they had earlier in the dream. When I woke up, my arm was asleep (pretty damn uncomfortable) and I had to piss like a racehorse. Things started falling into place:

I was driving a small four wheeled vehicle that would resemble a car the way a moped resembles a motorcycle. It had a small gas engine, but apparently primarliy was electric powered. I had gone into a gas station for some reason (did I buy a bite to eat?) and when I came out, it was like someone had re-ordered the world while I was gone. Where I had left nearly a carnival atmosphere, I walked out to find my now much smaller ride was parked behind these four guys dressed in extremely poofy, garishly pink, matching outfits. Like a court jester might have worn. I sat down in my diminished machine and some folks loitering started laughing. I couldn’t find the parking release, instead of being at my feet the run/stop pedals were at my hands…but for some reason (no short term memory? lack of free will) I simply endured and pulled out onto the highway I had been driving on.

The vehicle had much less power than before as well…I saw an old rusty sign advertising a gas station and wondered if I was low. The road QUICKLY went from a four lane divided highway into a two lane, and almost before my eyes devolved into a dirt road. I don’t remember the transformation specifically, but shortly it was simply a trail down a moutain-side. A brutally steep trail. The vehicle was now a ‘bike’, but it was balled up and weighed about a pound (like a crumpled up newspaper). I was following others on foot and the trail amazingly quickly got steeper and more demanding. Soon, inexplicably, there were these bundles of wrapped plywood on the trail, dangerous in that they shifted and were scattered randomly. Progress slowed to a crawl, as I jumped down from one to another suddenly they started shooting off the trail, first one down over the bank and then one FAST down the trail, clipping the guy in front of me and ‘obviously’ (but I didn’t see it) destroying people further down the trail. I don’t remember the transition, but I was explaining the accident to authorities, saying I hadn’t been riding my bike, I was on foot (gesturing to the balled up lump in my hand, which is how I knew the vehicle turned into a bike turned into a balled up lump)…

Whoever was writing and directing was doing their best to make the dream first unsatisfying and then downright unpleasant for me.

Wake up!
