The difference between the Democratic candidates

February 21st, 2008

I’ve been looking for some interesting material which will cause people to become curious about the Democrat candidates, and I think I’ve found it.

The Democratic take from top to bottom

“What’s rocking the boat? The Internet, mostly. Every day, it seems, the Web provides another way for average citizens to be active in the political process, instead of having the effects of politics trickle down to them…

As proof, Mr. Trippi points to the disparities between donations to the Clinton and Obama campaigns. Only 10 percent of Clinton contributors did not donate the legal maximum $2,300 for her primary campaign. In contrast, only three percent of Obama donors gave the maximum. The rest of the cash came from small sums from many more people.”

90% of Clinton contributions come from people so rich they can throw away $2,300 on a campaign contribution.

3% of Obama contributions come from people so rich they can throw away $2,300 on a campaign contribution.

Among the questions raised include “Who is the establishment candidate?” and “What do the rich know about Clinton that they lavish so much money upon her?”: Who do the elite and powerful think is going to best support their special interest?

If you’d like to see some of their records in congress, I suggest this highly educational (if a bit wordy) examination of the bills they’ve authored and/or sponsored (much more telling than their voting or co-sponsor records).

The last debate between the democratic candidates is on tonight (Tuesday). The race is down to the wire and, unlike the last debate, the gloves are off and unfortunately it looks like things could get nasty.

Check it out if you have time!

Down to the wire? It certainly sounds like that from the vast majority of news and spin in the media.

    Except…

Obama has been spanking Hillary for the what, last eight to eleven cycles? And he is up on her nationally between 12-18%? And he is vastly stronger against McCain?

Hillary is pulling typical establishment bullshit by not getting out of the way and letting the clear choice of the people be heard.

    True that!

By “down to the wire” I am referring to comments by Hillary’s camp that if they don’t win the next 2 state primaries they will be out of the race. That’s why it’s getting so ugly and Hil is resorting to spreading photos of Obama in muslim attire during a cultural visit to plant the idea of “unamericanism” (Is that a word?) and Muslim radical in people’s heads.

Yea, she is fighting tooth and claw for sure. Obama didn’t wear a flag pin…HE HATES FREEDOM!!!

If it situation were the other way around I’m sure the media would be clamoring for Obama to drop out of the race.

I can’t stand it when people fight dirty. Very unattractive. It will just continue to lose votes for her (like mine).

I watched the debates and, except for a few unflattering moments when Hillary’s claws came out again, I felt that they both performed very well. Hillary actually gave me moments (when she discussed her plan to create green-collar jobs and universal health care) when I could see myself being confident in her ability to lead our nation in the right direction.

Of course my heart (and vote) is still with Obama. His responses to every difficult question thrown at him (unlike Hillary, without complaint) eliminated any doubts that he is experienced enough to face the challenges of a post-Bush presidency.

And now I’m tired since the debate commentary lasted well past my bedtime….zzz

George Bush made a lot of people confidant too with his compassionate conservative message. And we all know how compassionate he turned out to be. Over a million dead in Iraq compassionate!

I don’t believe pretty much anything anyone tells me. I only believe actions and the results of actions. And Hillary has sold out her health care position of reform and progress to the rich and powerful.

She certainly has changed her tune since the 90s about health care.

It is no wonder why. She no longer represents the people, she represents the people financing her continued grip on power.

What BURNS ME UP is when people take a fallacy and spin it as truth. Take George Bush and “the immanent threat of Iraq”. He had a goal in mind and lied like a fuck to get what he wanted. Take Hillary and “can Obama win against McCain”. She has a goal in mind and is lying like a fuck to get what she wants. Different situations, exact same execution of the lie. She is taking what is obviously HER OWN WEAKNESS and stating it as his weakness, and expect Americans to be gullible and uninformed enough to believe her lies at face value. Jesus, I’m going to start calling her Hillary “Bush Jr.” Clinton for fucks sake!!!

Obama certainly is the man of the hour, and deservedly so (which to me is amazingly unlikely considering how rigged against We the People the two party, status quo preserving election system is) . Let us hope he ’smacks one out of the park’, as they say.

Interesting link to the healthcare industry contributions, G. Any time someone’s name is lumped in with Santorum, it can’t be a good thing!
